今年は免許の更新。
誕生日は9月の初めなので、8月初めから10月初め迄に更新すれば良いのですが、毎回交通安全センターで即日発行にしている俺は、今年も交通安全センターへ。
平日は難しいので、お盆休み初日の13日に行ってしまおうと。
一応15年以上無事故無違反の優良ドライバーなので、講習はビデオを30分見るだけのはず。
1時ちょっと過ぎに篠ノ井の交通安全センターに到着し、受付へ。
今回からICチップが内蔵された免許になるらしい。
まぁ、その事は事前に知っていたので驚きはしなかったのだけど、ちょっと驚いたのは免許の種類。
俺は原付と普通自動車の免許を取っているので、今までは免許証に「原付」と「普通」が記載されていたんだけど、いつの間にかその辺りが改正されたらしい。
で、新しい免許証には「原付」と「中型」という記載。「普通」が「中型」に出世することに。
そして、「免許の条件等」の欄には今までの「眼鏡等」の他に、
「中型車は中型車(8t)に限る」
という日本語としてどうなの？的な記載が・・・
要は「車両重量が8t未満、最大積載量が5t未満までの車に乗れますよ」という事らしい。
どの位前から改正になったのか知りません（調べたら平成19年6月2日施行）が、現在普通車免許を取得すると車両重量5t未満、最大積載量3t未満の車までしか運転出来ないらしいです。
なので、俗に言う「4tトラック」ってのは普通車免許では運転が出来ないってこと？（よく分からないや）
俺の場合免許的には8t未満まで運転できるけど、運転する機会なんてないだろうなぁ。（今までの最高は最大積載量2tのトラック）
知らないうちに世の中は進んでいるんですな。
免許の更新は受付＆講習で1時間程度で無事終了。
今回からはICチップ入りの免許ということで、受け取るときに
「本籍欄が空白になっているが、ICチップに本籍の情報が記録されている」、「受け取ったらそこの端末でICチップ内の情報を確認して帰れ」と説明を受け、素直に端末前で4桁×2の暗証番号を入れて確認。
本籍も入った免許の画像が表示されて確認完了。
無事に更新が完了しました。
お盆休みって事もあり、交通安全センターは結構な賑わいを見せていました。
次はまた5年後。その時は何が変わっているのでしょうか？
