衆院選も終わり、予想通りの民主党の圧勝。
いつの間にやら(8/28です)MacOSX SnowLeopard (10.6.0)が発売され、俺も1つ歳をとってしまった。
年齢の事はともかく、SnowLeopardについて。
今回のSnowLeopardは10.5→10.6というメジャーバージョンアップ。
ですが、実質的には10.5のチューニングを施したような感じらしい。
メインは見えない部分の改良。OS全体のパフォーマンスがけっこう改善されたそうだ。
それから、ちょっとしたU.I.の改良など。あまり目立たない感じかも。
あ、HDDを使う量も減るらしい。
仕事で少し使ったんだけど、起動や終了が早かったなぁ。
対応マシンはとうとうIntelMac以降となってしまいましたが。。。
（とうとうPPCMacも過去の物になってしまいますな）
で、お値段は2,800円ぐらいと、これまたリーズナブル。
この値段にはちょっと裏があるんです。
OS10.5.x(Leopard)がインストールされた環境にアップデートインストールをすることが前提らしい。
だから10.4.x(Tiger)を使っている人は10.5.xのインストールディスクを持っていないとダメ。
でもMacの場合、OSは15,000円ぐらいで買えるので、WindowsのOSを買うのと比べたら全然お安いです。
これは未確認情報ですが、このSnowLeopardのDVDだけでも新規インストールが可能らしいです。
と、言うことは、10.4を使っている人も2,800円ぐらいで10.6の環境を手に入れることが可能になるということです。
あくまでもネットで見た未確認の情報なので、試す場合は自己責任で試して下さい。
俺はまだアップデートしません。
使っているソフトがSnowLeopardで動作しなくなる可能性があるので、暫くは様子見です。
もうそろそろ10.6.1のアップデートもリリースされそうですが、10.6.5ぐらいまでは我慢する必要があるかもしれませんな。
それまでは仕事で使うだけで我慢します。
あ、ついでですが、iPhoneOS3.1アップデータが9月中にもリリースされそうです。
何が改善されるのかはわかりませぬが。
